UNDERWOOD, QLD
INSTALLED ROOTOP SOLAR CAPACITY
MODELLED ANNUAL ELECTRICITY SAVINGS
TENANTS CONNECTED
CAPITAL COST TO TENANTS AND LANDLORD
The Challenge
Six tenants at Zone Underwood had consistent daytime electricity demand and exposure to rising grid energy prices. The landlord wanted to deliver an energy benefit to those tenants without imposing upfront capital costs on the property or its occupants.
The Solution
Clarence Greenergy designed and installed a 576 kW rooftop solar system across six tenants, generating renewable power on-site during daylight hours to supplement grid supply. Grid electricity continues outside daylight hours or when generation is insufficient. Based on modelled generation and current consumption, the system is expected to deliver over $10,000 in combined annual savings. This estimate is based on prevailing tariffs and modelled output at the time of design; actual savings will vary with electricity prices, system performance, weather and tenant usage, and will be reflected in monthly PPA invoices compared with the equivalent grid tariff.
Environmental & price Impact
For consumption covered by the rooftop solar system, the PPA rate provides partial protection against future grid-tariff movements, while remaining usage is supplied from the grid and subject to grid pricing. On-site generation displaces an equivalent volume of grid electricity. Based on expected annual generation of [INSERT kWh/year] and the Queensland grid emissions factor of [INSERT kg CO2-e/kWh], the system is estimated to avoid approximately [INSERT TONNES CO2-e/YEAR] of Scope 2 emissions across participating tenants.
